This flight school exceeds my expectations in every way. The facility is immaculate, with comfortable lounge areas, and clean spacious briefing room. The aircraft, Cirrus SR20 is new, very comfortable, and carefully maintained, with all maintenance done on schedule, and excitingly, a brand new one is on its way!
Ben, the owner, was particularly helpful in planning my route, doing so with professionalism that really stood out.
Instructor, Matt, was very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive, making the learning process enjoyable and stress-free. The training program was comprehensive and well-structured. I’m excited to finish my training and can’t wait to get my PPL!

I’m a Flight Instructor and wanted to add my commercial/instrument multi engine rating. Ben, the owner, is a total stand-up guy and my ME instructor Carson was awesome. They fully accommodated my needs and the fast timeline in which I wanted to get this done. Never once did I feel like training was being stretched or time wasted. After I initially called, they secured a DPE after my first lesson and we had a day set and everything went smooth and as discussed. The prices are beyond fair and this school has an absolute great vibe to it. The Duchess is very well maintained with upgraded avionics and flew fantastic. The engine-out maneuvers were especially fun!!
I know pretty much every flight school in SoCal and for this rating I wanted to go somewhere I had never been and support a non-chain school and I can highly recommend training here. After having talked to dozens of schools about getting my multi-engine add-on and having numerous maintenance issues with their aircraft and delays I got fed up. I heard about Lipson Aviation so I gave them a call. Right away the owner Ben and the lead MEI, Carson started working on getting me a checkride date and planning out my training on the schedule.
To my delight, after arriving at the airport I realized the flight school was very well organized and professional. The airport itself was amazing to train out of with experienced and patient controllers as well as beautiful views of the mountains I had never experienced flying next to before.
Lipson Aviaiton’s multi-engine maneuvers and aerodynamics guides they supplied me with ensured I was prepared to learn before I even walked through the door. The Beechcraft Duchess they have was very easy to train in and straightforward, it was an excellent multi-engine trainer with an amazing Aspen PFD. I had previously flown in a Piper Seneca and comparing that to the Duchess was night and day.
Carson prepared me very well for both the oral and practical portion of the checkride, he is very experienced, professional, and very fun to train with. What I appreciated was if you didn’t need any more training, they wouldn’t push to make you fly more, Lipson had my best interests in mind throughout the whole training.
Despite the day of my checkride having bad weather, Ben and Carson worked tirelessly to get me another checkride date only 2 days later. The examiner is fun and fair and clearly enjoys working with Lipson Aviation giving checkrides. I enjoyed it!

Lipson Aviation is hands down the place to go in SoCal for high-quality, premium flight training, aircraft management and sales. I’ve done Cirrus SR22T training here, got my MEI in the Beech Duchess in 2025, and even had the chance to get some jet training in the Citation Mustang with Ben Lipson himself. I now do some contract flying for him as well.
What really stands out is how much pride they take in their airplanes and operations. The aircraft are super well maintained, every little issue gets taken care of right away, and they’re kept clean and looking sharp every day. Whether it’s a flight school plane or a managed aircraft, the level of care is the same.
Ben’s experience shows—he’s logged over 10,000 hours and even did time at the airlines. His attention to detail and focus on safety make training here feel professional but also really approachable as he’s been a flight instructor for about 15 years or so. The business keeps growing quickly, and they’re adding more brand-new SR20 G7s to the fleet in addition to their G6 SR20 and their Beechcraft Duchess.
